💬 A Personal Note from Sonja

Hi, I’m Sonja Bos — and if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that change can be scary… and still exactly what you need.

I was born in 1967 and raised in Germany, and I’ve moved 17 times in my life. Change has always been part of my story. After completing my education with Mercedes-Benz, I decided to follow my passion and started working in the tourism industry. It didn’t take long before I took the leap into self-employment in 1993 — and I never looked back.

I’ve been married and divorced, and I’m the proud mom of two amazing children: Max and Shirin. Over the years, I’ve built academies for major companies in Germany and traveled across the globe as a Management Trainer and Personal Development Coach, working with teams, leaders, and individuals in search of growth, purpose, and new possibilities.

In early 2018, I made one of the boldest moves of all — I relocated to the United States, bringing with me my daughter Shirin (now happily married to an American), our loyal dog Lara, and our sassy cat Kedi.

We settled in Florida, where I built a successful vacation rental and property management company, helping people find their place under the sun. Along the way, I supported some incredibly brave souls: coaching them through their move, writing business plans for visa applications, and building strategic roadmaps for starting fresh in a new country.

But I’ve also seen the other side — people who weren’t successful. Some were caught in the vacation feeling for too long, others underestimated the challenges, and quite a few were simply held back by the wrong mindset or poor planning. That’s why I believe so strongly in real preparation, honest reflection, and personal support before you take the leap.

These experiences — personal and professional — are the heart and soul of Beyond My Borders. It’s more than a business. It’s a calling. A community. A space where transformation begins.
